MIDWAY – Five University of Utah golfers competed in the 117th Utah State Amateur Championships this past week, which was held at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway.
The event, which ran July 6-11, began with a pair of stroke play qualifying rounds and was followed by six rounds of match play to close out the championship.
All five of Utah’s competitors in the event – Steven Croft, Brandon Kida, Justin Mortensen, Jose Pelayo and Jonathon Thomas – qualified for match play following the conclusion of stroke play last Monday and Tuesday.
