INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Jakob Poeltl earned another All-America honor Tuesday when the Associated Press named Poeltl a second-team All-American. By being named to the AP All-America Second Team, Poeltl becomes a consensus second-team All-American selection.
Poeltl, a sophomore out of Vienna, Austria, was named a first-team All-American by the Sporting News, and a second-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and U.S. Basketball Writers Association, earlier this month.
The NCAA recognizes these four All-America teams (AP, NABC, Sporting News and USBWA) to determine consensus All-Americans. A player gets three points for a first-team selection, two for second-team selection and one for third-team selection.
