SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Coming off a career-best performance in his Puerto Rico Tip-Off finale, Utah sophomore Jakob Poeltl has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
In four games last week, the 7-0 forward/center from Vienna, Austria nearly averaged a double-double with 19.5 points on 64 percent shooting and 9.5 rebounds as Utah went 3-1 over the previous seven days.
Poeltl recorded a pair of double-doubles last week, recording 15 points and 11 rebounds against San Diego State last Monday and then collecting a career-high 32 points to go along with 11 boards in Utah’s six-point win over Temple in Puerto Rico on Sunday.
