SALT LAKE CITY--Utah basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak and center Jeremy Olsen announced today that Olsen will be placed on a medical scholarship for his final season. Although Olsen is retiring from active competition due to injury, he will continue working with the team in a role to be determined while pursuing a graduate degree.
Olsen played in 79 games over the last three seasons for the Utes and also suited up for the Pac-12 All-Star squad that toured China last summer.
"It's difficult to have my career cut short due to injury, but playing basketball for Utah has been one of the most amazing times of my life," said Olsen.
