INDIANAPOLIS – A school record four Utah athletics teams have been publicly recognized by the NCAA for posting a multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) in the top 10 percent of all athletic teams in the country, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. Utah’s football, men’s basketball, men’s golf and women’s cross-country teams have been honored this year.
Prior to this year’s honor, Utah teams had been recognized in the top 10 percent eight times. This year marks the first time that Utah’s football, men’s golf and women’s cross-country teams have been recognized. It marks the third time the Runnin’ Ute basketball team has been honored, with the previous two honors coming back in 2008-09 and 2009-10.
