PROVO — Colton Shaver blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to highlight a 6-0 victory over rival Utah to give BYU its 10th-straight win Tuesday night at Miller Park.
Eric Urry led BYU (16-1) by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and teammate Anderson added a run and an RBI to extend the Cougars’ best start in school history.
Snow Canyon product Riley Gates earned the win for BYU with two strikeouts during a clean fourth inning of work. Maverik Buffo also had two strikeouts for the Cougars, who used seven pitchers in allowing 10 hits in the outing.
