TEMPE, Ariz.- Behind another strong performance on the mound from Jayson Rose, the Utah baseball team opened a three-game series against Arizona State with a 3-1 win on Thursday evening.
Utah (7-12) broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning and added an insurance run in the ninth to take the win.
Jayson Rose earned his second-straight win, pitching his second-straight one-run game. He threw eight innings and allowed one run on four hits with eight strikeouts, walking three. He raises his record to 3-2 on the year. Dylan Drachler, who entered with one on in the top of the ninth, earned his third save of the season.
