PALO ALTO, Calif. - Behind a season-high 16 hits, the Utah baseball team defeated Stanford, 11-3, on Sunday afternoon to close out a three-game series against the Cardinal.
Utah led 5-1 after two innings and increased its lead to 8-2 after four innings, and continued to pull away as the game continued.
Wyler Smith went 4-for-5 at the plate. Cole Taylor was 3-for-5 with five RBI. AJ Young went 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBI and also walked twice. Kody Davis was 3-for-3 with a home run, reaching base six times after being hit twice and a walk.
