SALT LAKE CITY – Cody Scaggari’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh broke a 4-4 tie and lifted the Utah baseball team to a 6-4 victory over UCLA on Friday afternoon in game one of the three-game series.
Utah scored four runs in the second to take an early 4-1 lead although UCLA came back to tie the game with a run in the third and two runs in the top of the seventh. The Utes pulled back ahead with a run in the bottom of the seventh plus an insurance run in the eighth.
