SALT LAKE CITY — Since its charter class of 18 inductees in 1970, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame has never inducted a posthumous member of the association — until now.
The late Utah State basketball great Wayne Estes will join former Utah quarterback Scott Mitchell, BYU cross country and track and field great Ed Eyestone, Olympic wrestler Cael Sanderson and San Francisco Giants pitcher Kelly Downs in the Utah Sports Hall of Fame's 2015 class Thursday night at 6 p.m.
Estes was an All-American for the Aggies from 1963 to 1965 and projected to be one of the top picks in the NBA Draft before his tragic death while stopping to help a car accident on Feb.
