Woman who attempted suicide at Brigham Young University has died

The school confirmed the death Wednesday afternoon, though spokesman Todd Hollingshead said it wasn’t immediately clear when the woman passed away.

She was critically injured when she fell to the first floor of the massive atrium at the center of the Tanner Building on Monday and had been in intensive care since then. A GoFundMe page is raising money for medical and funeral expenses.

Anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts is asked to call the 24-Hour National Suicide Prevention Hotline, 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Utah also has crisis lines statewide and the SafeUT app offers immediate crisis intervention services for youths and a confidential tip program.
