Utah woman escapes attacker on Draper hiking trail

Draper Police are searching for a man who attacked a female jogger on Thursday evening.

According to a new release, a 26-year-old woman reported she was “grabbed from behind” while running on the Porter Rockwell Trail — which runs from Draper City Park to Minuteman Drive — shortly before 8:44 p.m. The man “attempted to remove the victim's clothing, but the victim used pepper spray to defend herself.”

The man fled. The only description the woman provided was “a male wearing dark clothing.”

Despite an “intensive search,” police were unable to locate him. They are continuing to investigate.
