The University of Utah’s 11-win season netted the Utes their best finish in the AP Top 25 since joining the Pac-12 nine years ago.
The Utes, Pac-12 South champions for the second straight season, were ranked 16th when the final poll was released following LSU’s 42-25 win over Clemson on Monday night in the College Football Playoff championship game.
A No. 16 final ranking represents the fourth time the Utes have appeared in the final AP Top 25 since entering the Pac-12 in 2011. It is the ninth time in program history Utah is appearing in the final poll (1994, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016).
