LAS VEGAS — The Aggies came up just short in their bid to upset the No. 1-seeded San Diego State, falling 71-65 Thursday afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Aggies led the game for much of the first half and late in the second half, but missed shots and tough calls took their toll as the 24-8 Aztecs ground out the victory.
Junior forward Lew Evans led the Aggies (16-15) with 15 points. Jalen Moore played all 40 minutes, adding 14 points and nine rebounds.
