Utah State's Swenson expected to make 'complete recovery' following accident

LOGAN — Although another Aggie football player was involved in a bad automobile accident last week, head coach Matt Wells announced on Monday that safety Zach Swenson should make "a complete recovery."

A former standout at East High School, Swenson was redshirting this season after serving an LDS mission to San Diego. Thursday night while coming down Logan Canyon, Swenson lost control of a Toyota Tacoma pickup in a curve and hit a rock wall east of the mouth of the canyon.

Swenson and his passenger, Ryland Johnson, were both hospitalized following the accident.

"He was coming back out of the canyon; single-car accident and he sustained a broken leg," Wells said of Swenson.
