Utah State students plan a 'beard out' for USU-BYU football game

LOGAN — Around this time of year in Logan it gets cold. So why not grow a little facial hair and keep yourself a tad warmer?

The Utah State student section, the HURD, has put together a twist on the “No-shave November” that comes around each year.

On Saturday, Utah State will host BYU in the last regular-season football game. The first 750 students to enter the game will receive a beard to wear. The beard-out has two purposes:

The first has to do with a charity organization called Beards for Wayne. This organization is a monthlong fundraiser for Wayne Nielsen, a Cache Valley resident who was recently diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.
