Logan • Senior Devante Mays ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns Thursday night, leading Utah State to a season-opening 45-6 win over Weber State at the renovated Maverik Stadium.
Mays' rushing total was the most by an Aggie since 2012. It was also a career-high and helped Utah State improve its all-time record against the neighboring Wildcats to 14-1.
With Mays leading the way, the Aggies scored on their first three possessions and took control the game. His 66-yard run on the first play of the second quarter made it 21-0.
Utah State added LaJuan Hunt's nine-yard touchdown run and Brock Warren's 31-yard field goal in the third quarter to build a 31-6 lead and coast to the victory.
