Logan • Alex Young scored 20 points and 7-foot-6 center Mamadou Ndiaye contributed 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 73-63 victory over Utah State on Saturday night at the Spectrum.
The Aggies trailed by 19 with 9:20 remaining. They got as close as three, but Nidaye dunked, made a free throw and grabbed an offensive rebound that led to another score in the final 3:40 to prevent Utah State from completing its comeback.
The Aggies' Darius Perkins scored 18 points and Julion Pearre added 17 — both season-highs — as USU dropped to 5-3 for the season.
