Utah Royals struggle to create offense, fall to Seattle Reign Saturday afternoon

Sandy • In 100-degree temperatures, the Utah Royals tried to keep their 100 percent record in a 3-games-in-7-days stretch on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium. But it wasn’t to be.

A goal by Seattle’s Jessica Fishlock in the 48th minute gave the Seattle Reign a 1-0 win, dealing a big blow to the Royals' chances of moving into the top four and a playoff spot in the NWSL.

Throughout the match, the Royals struggled to create solid offensive chances. Utah took six shots, only two of which were on target.
