Utah State Amateur champion Preston Summerhays produced another phenomenal week of golf, winning the U.S. Junior Amateur in Toledo, Ohio.
Beginning on July 10, Summerhays went a combined 12-0 in match play at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway where he claimed a second consecutive State Am title, and at the Inverness Club, where he rallied for a 2-and-1 victory over Bo Jin of China in Saturday's 36-hole final match.
Summerhays, will turn 17 on Monday, was 3 down after 16 holes of the morning round, but won Nos. 17 and 18 with birdies.
“I just had to play my game, knowing that the putts would fall eventually,” Summerhays said on the FS1 telecast.
