CORVALLIS, Ore. — Utah’s pass defense put the clamps on Oregon State quarterback Darell Garretson. The former Utah State Aggie struggled mightily in Saturday’s 19-14 loss to the Utes at Reser Stadium.
Before leaving the game with a left foot injury with 8:33 left to play, Garretson had completed just 4-of-20 passes for 24 yards. Prior to connecting on three consecutive throws on his final series, he was just 1-of-16 for 1 yard. His only completion at the time was a throw to Artavis Pierce late in the first quarter. On the very next play, Garretson was intercepted by Utah safety Chase Hansen.
