The Green River fire chief was killed Sunday afternoon in Emery County when the car he was driving collided head on with two tractor trailers.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Philip Engleman was eastbound on State Road 6 near milepost 294 at 3:53 p.m. when his car “crossed over the center line and impacted two tractor trailers.” Engleman died at the scene; the drivers of the two trucks were not injured.
“With heavy hearts we have said goodbye to one of our own, Chief Philip Engleman,” the Green River Fire Department posted on Facebook. “Our deepest condolences are with his family at this time.
