USU volleyball: Utah State falls in tight match at Northern Colorado

Utah State women's volleyball suffered a 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-23) defeat at Northern Colorado on Friday night but played the Bears close with two of the three sets decided by three points or less. The result drops the Aggies to 3-9 on the year while UNC moves to 3-7 with the win.

Utah State scored the opening point of the match behind a kill by sophomore outside Rachel Gale and built a three-point cushion at 6-3, behind a kill by freshman setter Kassidy Johnson. Northern Colorado came back and tied the match at 8-8, but a 3-0 run, capped by another Gale kill, put the Aggies back up, 11-8.
