Utah State women's volleyball captured the first set, feeding off the sold out crowd on Kirby Court at the Wayne Estes Center, but was unable to come away with a victory, falling in four sets to Utah on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Aggies to 1-3 on the year, while the Utes move to 3-1 with the win.
USU scored the first point of the match and then broke a 4-4 deadlock with a three-point push behind kills by freshman outside Simone Gibeau and sophomore outside Rachel Gale, taking a 7-4 lead. Utah made it a one-point game at 13-12, but back-to-back points by the Aggies stretched the margin back to three at 15-12 and USU later extended the lead to five at 18-13 behind back-to-back errors by the Utes.
