Utah State’s track and field teams kicked off the 2017 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The Aggie men finished the day in second place with eight points, while the women are tied for third with 10 points.
Overall, New Mexico’s men and women lead the pack after day one with 10 and 14 points, respectively.
In the only event with Aggie men competing, USU placed second in the distance medley relay as freshmen Brody Smith and Michael Bluth and juniors Dillon Maggard and Jordan Beutler recorded a time of 9:49.
