Utah State's track and field teams collected one event title and four top-three finishes at the Washington-hosted UW Invitational this weekend, highlighted by senior distance runner Cierra Simmons-Mecham's school-record effort in both the 3,000 meters and distance medley relay.
Simmons-Mecham broke her previous school mark in the 3,000, this time recording a time of 9:23.25 to take fifth in the event. She also teamed with senior Megan Ryan, junior Melanie Muncy and sophomore Karen Christensen in the distance medley relay where they recorded a program indoor record time of 11:37.89, finishing 10th overall amongst some of the top distance programs in the country.
