Utah State women's tennis (6-6, 0-0 Mountain West) lost, 6-1, to Washington State (11-1, 0-0 Pac-12) on Thursday night at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
"We competed well at most spots," assistant coach Sanne Louwers said. "We're not there yet where we're supposed to be, but we're heading in the right direction. It was big to see one of our seniors step up and come out with a big performance."
In doubles, senior Sabrina Demerath and redshirt freshman Alexandra Taylor lost, 1-6, at the No. 3 spot against WSU freshman Michaela Bayerlova and junior Aneta Miksovska.
