Utah State sophomore Braxton Miller shot a final round of 1-over 71 to finish tied for 14th place with a 5-par 215 (70-74-71) at the Colorado-hosted Mark Simpson Golf Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at the Boulder Country Club.
Utah State finished tied for seventh place in the 12-team field at 38-over 878 (291-288-299). Colorado (275-293-279) and Missouri – Kansas City (280-283-284) tied for the team championship at 7-over 847, while UMKC’s Antoine Rozner took medalist honors with a 2-under 208 (68-71-69).
Miller, who had 11 birdies during the 54-hole tournament, carded rounds of 70 and 74 on Monday to go along with his 71 on Tuesday to tie for his lowest-ever 54-hole score (215) and record his best-ever tournament finish (T-14).
