Utah State football held its 12th practice of fall camp on Tuesday on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium as fourth-year head coach Matt Wells put an emphasis on live special teams drills, along with late-game scenarios.
“Today’s practice was one of the most important of fall camp, because we really focused in on solidifying roles for special teams,” Wells said. “We also gave these players another opportunity to perform in live situations, including late-game scenarios. Overall, I like where this team is, but we still have a lot of work to do.”
Highlights from Tuesday’s practice included senior running back Devante Mays scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run during a two-minute drill, as well as recording a 20-yard run.
