ALBUQUERQUE — The defense in University Stadium is the center of attention in Utah State’s matchup with New Mexico as the Lobos lead just 7-3 at the half.
LaJuan Hunt punched a career-long 63 yards off a screen pass from Kent Myers on the opening drive of the game before the Lobos held the Aggies to take over on their own 2-yard line.
From there, the defense was unbreakable for both the Aggies and the Lobos as the game entered the second quarter scoreless.
New Mexico put the game’s first points on the board with 8:59 to play in the first half as Lamar Jordan connected with Delane Hart-Johnson on an 86-yard touchdown pass.
