Utah State’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams set the tone for the 2016 campaign with stellar performances from the freshmen at the Sagebrush Invitational on Saturday morning at the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course.
The Utah State women finished second as a team with 56 points, finishing just behind Boise State, which recorded 32 points. USU’s men placed third as a team with 77 points, finishing behind Boise State’s second-place total of 46 points and Southern Utah’s winning mark of 26 points.
For the second-consecutive year a Utah State freshman captured the women’s 5-kilometer title as Bailee Parker placed first with a time of 17:28.
