Utah State men’s basketball played its first official scrimmage of the year on Saturday morning and senior guard Shane Rector showed his versatility, leading the scrimmage with 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists. The morning included three, 12-minute sessions.
Rector shot 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from the floor and 75.0 percent (6-of-8) from the free-throw line en route to his 18 points. He was joined in double figures by four more, as junior guard Julion Pearre recorded 16 points, freshman guard Koby McEwen and senior wing Jalen Moore added 14 apiece and freshman wing Daron Henson scored 12.
