A Monday report of an attempted abduction outside South Davis Junior High School turned out to be false, FOX 13 reported.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the report had been a fabrication or a misunderstanding. On Monday, police in Bountiful said they were trying to find a man who attempted to take a girl after classes were dismissed.
Police reported the girl was walking from the school to where she was supposed to be picked up when a man approached her. The man said he was there to pick the girl up “because her father was unavailable,” police wrote in a statement.
