After getting into an argument with his parents on Friday afternoon, a 13-year-old boy walked across a “barely frozen” Utah Lake — from Saratoga Springs to the Lindon Marina — without mishap, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office reported.

“The distance was almost 6 miles and he didn’t break through the ice until his last two steps before coming ashore,” tweeted Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

Search and rescue crews were called out to get the boy off the lake, but he finished his trek just as crews were arriving at the Lindon Marina, KUTV 2News reported.
