Seahawks add CB Butler, promote Moody from PS

The roster turnover in Seattle continued this week with the Seahawks signing two defenders to improve depth with the undefeated Carolina Panthers coming to town.

With depth a concern in the secondary and linebacker, the Seahawks made a pair of moves this week, signing veteran cornerback Crezdon Butler and promoting linebacker Nick Moody from the practice squad, SeahawkFootball.com has learned.

The duo fill roster spots left open when the club released versatile wide receiver and emergency quarterback B.J. Daniels and running back Rod Smith Tuesday.

The 6-foot-1, 191 pound Butler was a fifth round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010 and has spent time with seven different organizations, including last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
