LOGAN — After a promising start, the Aggies' hopes of an upset of San Diego State got washed away by a cold Cache Valley rain Friday night at Maverik Stadium.

Utah State scored on its first possession — the first touchdown given up by the Aztecs' defense in more than three games — but then the Aggies surrendered 40 straight points on its way to a 40-13 loss to the defending Mountain West champions.
