Salt Lake City’s Kelsey Chugg is not in last place in the U.S. Women’s Open field, but she’s close to it after posting an 11-over-par 83 on Thursday at Shoal Creek, Ala.
Chugg, one of 29 amateurs and 17 first-time contestants, was a respectable 2 over through six holes, but she double-bogeyed the par-4 No. 7 and triple-bogeyed the par-4 No. 12.
