Two Salt Lake pitchers combined to throw a four-hit shutout as the Bees beat the Tacoma Rainiers 5-0 in a Pacific Coast League game Monday night at Smith’s Ballpark.
Dillon Peters (2-1) earned the win, working 5 2⁄3 innings and allowing only three hits while striking out four. Peters was relieved in the sixth by Parker Bridwell, who went the rest of the way and allowed one hit while fanning two batters to earn his first save of the season and second of his career.
Justin Bour hit a home run in the first inning, Matt Thaiss added a two-run shot in the third, and Jose Rojas homered in the seventh for Salt Lake.
