The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Salt Lake Bees 8-5 in a Pacific Coast League game Wednesday night at Smith’s Ballpark.
Jose Rojas and Kaleb Cowart each hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first to give the Bees a 2-0 lead. In the next frame, Sacramento responded with three runs to gain a 3-2 advantage. The Bees tacked on one run in the fourth and traded runs with the River Cats in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4. Sacramento broke the tie in the top of the seventh with a solo shot and a two-run home run to make it 7-4.
