Utah Sen. Mitt Romney will hold a town hall at Provo City Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, his eighth during the nearly six months he’s been in office.
One question expected to be raised at the public event is the first-term senator’s stance on potential military action against Iran, after reports that President Trump ordered a strike against Iran and then pulled back when told 150 Iranians might be killed in the attack.
The strike that was aborted was to be in retaliation for Iran shooting down a $100 million-plus U.S. surveillance drone. Although Iran claims the drone had penetrated its airspace, the Trump administration insists the strike was over international waters.
