Report: Utah State junior linebacker Nick Vigil applies for NFL draft

Nick Vigil will reportedly follow his brother into the NFL.

Utah State's junior inside linebacker has sent in his paperwork to officially apply for this year's NFL draft, according to a report from ESPN's Joe Schad.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Vigil, who prepped at Fremont High, had his most successful year in 2015, posting a career-high 140 tackles to go along with 13.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He earned all-Mountain West first-team defensive honors for the second straight season.

Vigil told Schad he "was really torn" over the decision to leave Utah State after leading the Mountain West in tackles this season.
