With just 35 days to go until the midterm elections, some vulnerable House Republicans are walking a fine line: Touting their conservative ideals, the work they’ve done in Congress and not saddling up with President Donald Trump or criticizing him either. In some districts with tough races, Trump polls ahead of the GOP candidates but they can’t be seen as in his pocket because it may alienate independent voters.
