Utah's No. 17-ranked women's basketball team rallied from 14 points behind to tie USC, but couldn't take the lead in the second half of an 84-80 loss Friday night at the Huntsman Center.
The Utes had possession on Erika Bean’s steal with 13.8 seconds remaining, trailing by two points, but freshman Niyah Becker’s 3-point shot was blocked. USC’s Ja’Tavia Tapley clinched the victory with two free throws.
The Utes cut the lead to seven points early in the third quarter, then fall behind by 14 before rallying again. Moore made two free throws with 0.7 seconds left in the quarter, restoring USC's lead to 68-59.
