NFL locals watch: Former USU defenders, rookies lead respective teams in tackles in Thursday's play

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Brandon Tate (19) tries to break the tackle of Cincinnati Bengals inside linebacker Nick Vigil (59) in the first half of an NFL preseason football game in Detroit, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016.

Thursday night’s six NFL preseason games provided opportunities for 25 Utah ties to get on the field, and several young players made an impact.

Former Utah State players Marwin Evans (Green Bay) and Nick Vigil (Cincinnati) led their respective teams in tackles, while another ex-Aggie, Kyler Fackrell, had the highest number of defensive snaps among Packers linebackers.

Seattle veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner, also a USU alum, led his Seahawks in tackles as well, while former Ute cornerback Sean Smith did the same for Oakland.
