Former BYU defensive end Sae Tautu was released by the New Orleans Saints with an injury designation on Tuesday.
Tautu, a Lone Peak High product who was playing outside linebacker for New Orleans, signed with the team as an undrafted free agent this offseason.
According to NOLA.com, Tautu was injured during the Saints’ fourth day of training camp and tests revealed a sprained MCL.
The news was better for another NFL local, though, as former Utah State defensive tackle David Moala signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
Moala originally signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent during the 2016 offseason but was cut before the end of training camp that year.
