Sandy • Three German brothers moved from a small town outside Kohln, Germany, to Utah in 2017 with one purpose — to give returned missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a taste of the Deutschland again.
They opened Rimmels German Street Food in Orem, which specialized in döners — a portable wrap/sandwich found all over Europe.
Now the brothers — Mathias, Thomas and Andreas Rimmel— are on to their next German-themed restaurant. This time they’re opening Café Berlin in Sandy.
Located in the former Britton’s, at 694 E. Union Square, the restaurant serves traditional German dishes all day, including bratwurst, schnitzel, pork Gulasch and spätzle with gravy or cheese.
