“One of the reasons the NCAA was created 105 years ago was to protect (amateur sports). It begs a lot of interesting questions. If you were going to hire a football team, why would you hire 18-year-olds? Why would you hire students when your school work gets in the way of your job? I happen to profoundly disagree with it.”
