Uintah County Animal Control officers are trying to find those responsible for throwing three kittens out of a speeding vehicle onto the highway near Ouray on Thursday morning.
All the kittens apparently died on impact, animal control and shelter director Christina Williams said.
A semi truck driver called 911 around 9 a.m. to report a that someone in older model passenger car was speeding and throwing objects out onto the roadway, northbound UT-88. Law enforcement later found the bodies of three dead kittens in the area.
Williams said the kittens — which all had white and black fur — were about 7 weeks old.
