Logan • Koby McEwen scored 23 points Saturday as Utah State took a 71-65 victory over Mountain West leader Boise State at the Spectrum, giving USU coach Tim Duryea his first win over the Broncos in his three seasons.
Boise State had won the last six games in the series, counting a victory in former coach Stew Morrill’s last season.
USU moved to 14-12 overall, 7-6 in the Mountain West. The Broncos are 20-5, 10-3. Chandler Hutchison led Boise State with 28 points. Sam Merrill scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half for Utah State.
