Three people suffered injuries Thursday when lightning struck near the Utah Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore.
Devan Chavez, a spokesman for Utah State Parks, said ambulances took all three victims to Fillmore Community Hospital. He did not know their conditions late Thursday.
The strike happened at 8:30 p.m. Chavez said lightning hit the ground. Two of the injured were a father and minor daughter. There was no damage to the Statehouse, he said.
The Territorial Statehouse is a relic from Utah’s pioneer days when the capitol was briefly located in Fillmore. The state still operates the Statehouse as a park and museum.
